Thank you Christine! I remember when the Beatles came here and were on the Ed Sullivan show. We didn’t have a TV, so I went to my in-laws to see it, and they were definitely unimpressed with the long-haired “hippies.” I fell in love with them all and still think they are among the greatest song writers of our generation. Proof is, they are still heard everywhere a half century later.

Oh Sandy, I remember! I was 5 when they were on Ed Sullivan, my sisters were 4, 4 and 2. When all the girls started screaming, we joined in. My parents were shocked, but cute. Instead of turning the TV off, they sat with a copy of Dr Spock’s book trying to figure out what they should do. Of course, it wasn’t covered; so, they decided to watch us as part of the show! We were swooning and clutching our shirts, and screaming in joy! It was all mob mimicry, since we were too young to understand that they were boys and not a new toy. Mom always regretted not having film in the camera. My next Beatle memory was a little boy who had a crush on one of the twins, he stood in front of our house at 6am singing “I want to hold your hand” on a Saturday morning… no one ever talked about what Daddy yelled out the window… but he never came back LOL
